Over the past weekend, Xavier Rudd once again opened for the Dave Matthews Band and added his share of didgeridoo to the action during the headliner’s set. Over the course of two shows at New England Dodge Music Center Rudd appeared on the three songs that he guested on at the Tweeter Center earlier in the week, joining in for ‘Bartender’ on Sunday and both Still Water and Dont Drink the Water on Saturday. The Sunday show also was notable for the return of ‘Shotgun,’ a DMB original that the group debuted last summer but had yet to surface in 2007.
Meanwhile, the band has inked a deal with Starbucks, which will release a compilation disc drawn from the performances that appear in the group’s Live Trax series. Selections include: Dancing Nancies (_Live Trax, Vol. 7: 12.31.1996 Hampton Coliseum, Hampton, VA_), Dont Drink The Water (_Live Trax, Vol. 6: 7.7 7.8.2006 Fenway Park, Boston, MA_), Die Trying (_Live Trax, Vol. 9: 3.23 3.24.2007 MGM Grand Garden Arena, Las Vegas, NV_) and Grace Is Gone from this past weekends venue (_Live Trax, Vol. 3: 8.27.2000 Meadows Music Theatre, Hartford, CT_). Next up for DMB are two shows at Tweeter Center at the Waterfront in Camden, NJ on Tuesday and Wednesday.
