The following note comes from Jambands.coms sister company Green Apple, who are currently gearing up for the third annual festival in 2008.
Farm Aid has asked Green Apple Music and Arts Festival to help promote Farm Aid’s upcoming event at Randall’s Island on September 9, 2007 featuring Neil Young, Dave Matthews, Willie Nelson, John Mellencamp, Gregg Allman, The Allman Brothers Band, Counting Crows, Matisyahu, Guster, The Derek Trucks Band, Warren Haynes, Supersuckers, The Ditty Bops, Montgomery Gentry and many more to be announced very soon! We are looking for people to be a part of the street team. Farm Aid’s work , now, more than ever, is important, which is why Green Apple has agreed to help them out: Reducing one’s ‘food miles’ has been said to be one of the best ways to live a sustainable life.
As a member of the street team, you will receive $50 per shift and will be asked to work several four-hour shifts over the course of the next month. The promotion will start immediately, Saturday, August 11, and will exclude Labor Day weekend. PLEASE NOTE THAT IF HIRED, AFTER AUGUST 18th, YOU WILL BE ON CALL. If the concert sells out by then, there’s no need to continue with the promotion and you can pat yourselves on the back for a job well done!
Street teams reps will be ‘canvasing’, or asking patrons of farmers markets at Union Square (Wednesdays and Saturdays), Park Slope (Saturdays) and Montclair, NJ (Saturdays) a few key questions on behalf of Farm Aid. Specifically, they’d like to promote their ‘Home Grown’ campaign; what does this mean to folks? You’ll be asked to wear a Farm Aid t-shirt, collect answers and hand out flyers about the concert. Visit www.farmaid.org for more info.
Besides monetary compensation, we’d like to offer you a ticket to the concert on Sunday, September 9 if hired. Please e-mail [email protected] for more information.
