Mill Valley, Californias Sweetwater Saloon finally closed in its doors on Monday night after 37 years. The last night of music drew in a number of notable area residents who appeared in a range of configurations. One of the evenings heartening moments was Mark Karans return to the stage with his RatDog bandmate Bob Weir, as the two delivered a run from ‘Wang Dang Doodle’ into Sugaree with Pete Sears, Barry Sless and Audie Delone also helping out. Other performers included Jerry Harrison, Dan Hicks, Sammy Hagar, Narada Michael Walden, The Rowan Brothers, Lisa Kindred, and Ramblin’ Jack Elliot. The Sweetwater is now searching for a new location in the vicinity to reopen.
