On New Years Eve singer/songwriter Jon Brion celebrated the start of 2008 with an appearance at Chicagos Harris Theatre. Wilco bassist John Stirratt and multi-instrumentalist Pat Sansone opened the evening under their Autumn Defense alias, offering a short set consisting of ‘The Sun In California,’ ‘Bluebirds Fall’ and ‘Spend Your Life’ and ‘Sentimental Lady.’ Later in the evening, both Stirratt and Sansone joined Brion onstage for a few numbers, including a cover of the Beatles I Feel Fine. Spoon frontman, and recent Brion collaborator, Britt Daniel also made a surprise appearance with the evenings headliner, playing acoustic guitar on Everything Hits At Once’ and ‘The Underdog, among others. Wilco will begin a multi-night run at Chicagos The Riviera on February 15.
