Jam Cruise 6 is already a few days into its voyage and currently docked in Cozumel, Mexico. Longtime Jambands.com columnist David Steinberg is onboard and sends some news on the Jon Fishman front. The former Phish drummer boarded the ship to play with the rotating Everyone Orchestra, but has also made good use of the boats open Jam Room. Last night, Fishman stepped behind the kit for a freeform, New Orleans-themed jam session that lasted until 5 AM and featured George Porter Jr. on bass and Steve Kimock on guitar. Fishman is a weathered seaman who also performed with the Jazz Mandolin Project on Jam Cruise 3 in 2005. Look for more on Jam Cruise 6 when the ships returns ashore on January 9.
