Recent New Groove of the Month BuzzUniverse shared a bill with upstate New Yorks Lynch on Saturday at Ithaca, NYs famed Castaways. During BuzzUniverses set, moe. percussionist Jim Loughlin, who plays with Lynch, joined the group for the last four songs of their set, including the traditional Venezuelan number Caballo Viejo, the original Earth is Moving, Bobby Charles’ Down South in New Orleans and a set closing ‘In the Sun. The latter number also featured the full Lynch horn section: Terry Lynch (trumpet/vocals), Shannon Lynch (tenor saxophone) and Suke Cerulo (trombone). Later in the evening, BuzzUniverses Stefanie Seskin (flute) and Brian Ciufo (baritone sax), Dave Migliore (drums) and Bob Ramos (percussion) also joined Lynch for a cover of Blondie’s Rapture. BuzzUniverse will appear next at Teaneck, NJs Mexicali Blues on April 4.
