While many suspected that the members of The Slip had gone their separate ways for the time being, the New England-bred trio will regroup with singer/songwriter Nathan Moore for a short Northeast tour as Surprise Me Mr. Davis this spring. The quartet will hit the road April 17 for a gig at Burlington, VTs The Higher Ground, before making stops at Great Barrington MAs Club Helsinki (4/18), Northampton MAs The Iron Horse Music Hall (4/19), New Yorks Sullivan Hall (4/20) and Fall River MAs Narrows Center for The Arts (4/22). As previously reported, Surprise Me Mr. Davis will also appear at High Sierra this summer along with Bob Weir & RatDog, Mike Gordon, Railroad Earth and many others. The members of The Slip have all kept busy this winter: bassist Marc Friedman and drummer Andrew Barr backed Natalie Merchant for a handful of dates in January, while guitarist Brad Barr performed with Sonya Kitchell at her various SXSW showcases.
