Luther and Cody Dickinson backed John Hiatt on his 2005 release Master of Disaster, after which the brothers supported Hiatt on a number of a tour dates along with their North Mississippi Allstars bandmate Chris Chew. Although Luther has been quite busy of late, recording and gigging not only with the Allstars but also with the Black Crowes, he has long-expressed his deep respect for Hiatt as a songwriter and a performer. As a result, Dickinson found time to join Hiatt in studio for Same Old Man which is set for a May 27 release. Hiatt produced the release and Dickinson contributes guitar, mandolin and national resonator, while Johns daughter, Lilly, sings harmony, Kenneth Blevins contributes drums and Patrick OHearn is on bass. Hiatt will tour in support of the disc in July (while Luther will be gigging with the Crowes).
