August 5 is the official release date for Mike Gordon’s latest studio effort The Green Sparrow. Gordon recorded the disc at his new home studio and mixed it at Phish’s recording and rehearsal space, The Barn. On The Green Sparrow he is joined by his longtime bandmates Trey Anastasio and Page McConnell as well as Rhythm Devil Bill Kreutzmann, Joe Russo, Ivan Neville and the Antibalas horns. Gordon may well showcase this material during scattered festival dates which begin at Rothbury on July 4. Then he is expected to take to the road for a series of club dates with his new, as- yet-unannounced touring band later this summer.
