While off the road, the members of The Slip have been working on some intriguing side-projects. Bassist Marc Friedman will shift gears for a second and play two shows with the comedic theater group Story Pirates. According to a post on Friedmans MySpace page, This is a very cool group of actors and musicians and a bunch of these cats OWE ME MONEY! But nevertheless, we will provide for a very solid night of entertainment and I will play multi-instruments in the live band. As of press time, Friedman will perform with the ensemble at New Yorks Zipper Factory on June 21 and July 19. Friedman also recently laid down some tracks with Natalie Merchant and Slip drummer Andrew Barr and has clocked in a few dates with singer/songwriter Sonya Kitchell and Slip guitarist Brad Barr. The bassist will perform with Kitchell at Los Angeles Hotel Cafomorrow.
