An intriguing mix of musicians come together on August 13 to celebrate the life of famed jazz and R&B producer Joel Dorn. The free celebration,which has been dubbed Keep a Light in the Window – An Homage to Joel Dorn, will take place in Lincoln Centers Damrosch Park and feature performance by a number of Dorn’s collaborators, including Les McCann, David Fathead Newman, Dr. John, Jacob Fred Jazz Odyssey, Roberta Flack, Jane Monheit, Janice Segal and Mose Allison, among many others. Dorns son Adam will also perform with his current outfit Mocean Worker. The veteran producer passed away last December, leaving behind his final label Hyena Records.
