Mike Gordon is among the guest musicians scheduled to appear on Freekbass’ forthcoming release Junkyard Waltz. The guest-heavy set is due in-stores on October 28, also featuring appearances by Bernie Worrell, Jen Durkin, Buckethead and executive producer Bootsy Collins. On September 5, Gordon may very will revisit his studio collaboration with Freekbass when the group opens for him at Cleveland, OH’s Beechland Ballroom. Freekbass has a longstanding relationship with Collins dating back to the mid-1990s and joined the funky bassist as his James Brown tribute shortly after the Godfather of Soul’s passing. Gordon’s next show will take place at Boulder’s Fox Theatre tonight, while Freekbass will appear at Legend Valley, OH’s Hookahville this evening.
