Voting is now underway to select the Official State of Oklahoma Rock Song. In years past, the Oklahoma Legislature has named a State Folk Song (Oklahoma Hills, Jack and Woody Guthrie), a State Country and Western Song (Faded Love, Bob Wills), and an official State Song (Oklahoma, Richard Rodgers and Oscar Hammerstein II). A House Resolution has now called for the selection of the Official Rock Song. The final nominees include: All-American Rejects ‘Move Along,’ The Call ‘Oklahoma,’ The Flaming Lips ‘Do You Realize?,’ J.J. Cale ‘After Midnight,’ John Moreland & the Black Gold Band ‘Endless Oklahoma Sky,’ Leon Russell ‘Home Sweet Oklahoma,’ Elvis Presley ‘Heartbreak Hotel,’ Three Dog Night ‘Never Been to Spain,’ The Ventures ‘Walk, Don’t Run’ and Wanda Jackson ‘Let’s Have a Party.’ Online voting will continue through November 15.
