The Lusher Charter School is a K-12 New Orleans Public School, which offers a college-preparatory curriculum and ‘incorporates the arts throughout the curriculum with comprehensive arts education.’ This evening, a number of area musicians will take to the stage in support of the school. Tipitina’s will host ‘La Soiree Musicale: A Benefit for Lusher School,’ starting at 7 PM. The Stanton Moore Trio will participate, along with George Porter Jr., The Dad’s Band (featuring Derek Huston, Mark Hughes, Steve Watson, Rich Collins, and Lulu Gonzales), The Bruisers (featuring Jason Goodman and Dave Olivier), and The Lusher Jazz Band. The night also will include a silent auction.
