Last Wednesday, December 10, marked the opening night of the Gene Ween Band East Coast tour. The line-up for the seven announced shows included Gener, Dave Dreiwitz, Scott Metzger and Joe Russo. The initial shows melded classic Ween material with select covers of Alan Parsons, the Beach Boys and David Bowie, among others. However, following the group’s performance at Asbury Park’s Wonder Bar on Saturday night, the band has announced that the final three dates have been cancelled. Tonight’s gig at Philadelphia’s World Cafive, Wednesday’s show at Music Hall Williamsburg and Thursday’s performance at Highline Ballroom will no longer be taking place ‘due to illness.’ Details regarding refunds and rescheduling will follow in the near future.
