Hot Buttered Rum currently is remaining close to its Bay Area base, while continuing to work on a forthcoming studio disc, produced by Tim Bluhm (Mother Hips). On Saturday night, HBR appeared at the Mystic Theatre in Petaluma, CA where once again the group expanded its line-up with the addition of Everyone Orchestra conductor Matt Butler on drums (Butler is joining the group in studio as well). During the course of the show, Hot Buttered Rum guitarist Nat Keefe proclaimed, ‘Matt Butler’s going to be rolling with us for a while. And we couldn’t be more delighted to be rolling with The Everyone Orchestra too.’ The evening also offered a sequence in which Butler conducted the band Everyone Orchestra style too, with members of opening act Izabella also participating. Hot Butler Rum will travel down to Hollywood for a show at the Roxy on Wednesday, the first of four consecutive Southern California dates.
