On July 4, 1992 Blues Traveler performed its initial Independence Day gig at Red Rocks Amphitheatre. The band has returned there annually, with the exception of 1999 at the time of John Popper’s angioplasty. This year Live and Collective Soul will be on the bill, with tickets on sale this Saturday. Meanwhile the group is on the west coast this weekend, with gigs in Los Angeles (Friday) and Scottsdale, Arizona (Saturday). The group’s summer dates are still being filled out but they include a stop at Lollapalooza on August 3.
