The Disco Biscuits Jon Gutwillig will play with two different side-projects in the near future. On May 16, the guitarist will perform at Philadelphias The Fillmore at the TLA with his new band Players Club. The all-star group also feature keyboardist Tom McKee (Brothers Past), bassist Steve Lyons (Bodega) and drummer Mike Greenfield (Xylos, The Ally). Soon after, on June 14 Gutwillig will perform with his other primary outlet M80 Dubstation at Atlantas 595 North. The bill also includes Benga, DJ Spooky, SubSwara, Alex B, Starkey, Djunya, Joe Nice, Charlie P and several other artists. M80 Dubstation is a dub step music project, which is 140BMP music that came out of dub and reggae, and its gotten very electronic and very bass-heavy, Gutwillig recently told Jambands.com. Its a brand new kind of music and thats why I like it. Artistically, its a fresh palette. There is nothing you can do that has been done before or trite. Its just fresh. Its sort of like a little grease for the artistic machine. I spun my third show ever last night [December 29] and did 11 songs I wrote myself and 11 or 12 songs by dub step artists from the UK.
