California Senator Barbara Boxer has announced that she will run for re-election in 2010. On Saturday, some familiar faces performed a fundraiser to support her efforts as Bob Weir, Mickey Hart, Jeff Chimenti and Robin Sylvester delivered a seven song set in the yard of a private home in Ross, CA. The quartet ran through a performance that began with ‘Blackbird,’ and also included ‘Friend of the Devil,’ ‘Ripple,’ ‘Bird Song,’ ‘Take Me to the River,’ ‘Gloria’ and ‘Imagine.’ Jay Lane then stepped out and contributed to the ‘Not Fade Away’ encore. Boxer, the current Chair of the Senate Committee on Environment and Public Works was first elected in 1992.
