Buckwheat Zydeco will celebrate its 30th anniversary with the new guest-heavy studio album _ Lay Your Burden Down_. Produced by Los Lobos Steve Berlin, the New Orleans-centric disc features an appearance by Warren Haynes on the albums title track Lay Your Burden Down (a song the Govt Mule leader co-wrote), backup vocals and piano work from JJ Grey on his own The Wrong Side, auxiliary guitar by Sonny Landreth on When The Levee Breaks and The Wrong Side and some bonus brass Troy Trombone Shorty Andrews throughout the 11-track album. In addition, Berlins distinctive baritone sax can he heard at various points throughout the album. The album also features a number of covers, ranging from Joe McCoys When the Levee Breaks to Bruce Springsteens Back in Your Arms.
