The latest release from The Motet looks back over the band’s history. Founder Dave Watts produced Dig Deep, which draws in a dozen musicians who have played with the group over the years. Along with Watts on drums, the core group on the disc also consists of Joey Porter on keys, percussionist Scott Messersmith, Mike Tiernan on guitar, bassist Garrett Sayers on bass and a horn section consisting of Dominic Lalli (tenor), John Stewart (baritone), and Dan Sears (trumpet). The band is rounded out by vocalists Beth Quist and Jans Ingber along with Paul McDaniel on bass and Zivanni Masango on guitar. The Motet its celebrating Dig Deep this weekend in its native Colorado with a show tonight at Cervantess Masterpiece Ballroom in Denver and on Saturday at The Mishawaka Amphitheater in Bellevue, CO.
