Over the past few years Bill Kreutzmann has joined Papa Mali’s band for a few special occasions. The relationship will continue later this month, at the Telluride Cajun Festival. There, on Friday July 31, Kreutzmann will be part of Mali’s group which also will feature Tea Leaf Green’s Reed Mathis as well as Matt Hubbard (Willie Nelson and Friends). Kreutzmann will the remain in Colorado for the days to follow, with shows slated for the Boulder Theater (Monday, 8/3) and Cervantes (Friday 8/7 and Saturday 8/8). This weekend, Papa Mali is in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada at the Cisco Ottawa Bluesfest, appearing on Saturday with his trio and on Sunday with Rhythm Council, which also features Henry Butler, Kirk Joseph and Robb Kidd.
