Last night, Dave Matthews Band headlined Syracuse, NYs Alliance Bank Stadium. Partway through the groups set, saxophonist Sam Kininger emerged for a 15-minute version of the live staple Jimi Thing that also featured DMB saxophonist Jeff Coffin on double saxophone. Kininger first sat in with Dave Matthews Band in 2001 as a member of Soulive and has joined the group a handful of times over the past decade. He also plays with touring Dave Matthews Band trumpeter Rashawn Ross in Lettuce. Dave Matthews Band will perform in Bethel, NY this evening at the site of the original Woodstock festival.
