This past April, Luther Dickinson, Alvin Youngblood Hart and Jimbo Mathus first toured together as the South Memphis String Band. The three Mississippi musicians first collobrated on a studio project with Luther’s father, the late Jim Dickinson, which ultimately yielded the trio. Folks who were unable to hear the South Memphis String Band on tour will now have a chance. On January 19, Memphis International Records will release Home Sweet Home. As of yet the group has not announced any dates in support of the release but some shows would seem to be likely.
