Former New Groove of the Month Family Groove Company celebrated the New Year at the Redstone Room in Davenport, IA. There the group opened the night with an acoustic set that took place on the venue’s dance floor with the group’s Jordan Wilkow on a baby grand piano. That portion of the night included debut covers of the Beatles’ “Two of Us” and the Wood Brothers’ “One More Day.” The group then picked up their electric instruments for an “Auld Lang Syne” at midnight after which a horn section featuring Nathan Kamsler (Chinese Fingertrap, Fat Fest) and Jerry Spiering (MWC) joined in for a set that included Phish’s “Julius,” MMW’s “Wiggly’s Way,” and an encore of Paul Simon’s “Late in the Evening.”
