On Monday we shared the details of Widespread Panic’s fall tour, which will extend from September 17 through Halloween. The group has now announced the opening acts for many of these performances, which include a number of longtime band associates. Bloodkin’s Daniel Hutchens, who co-wrote “True To My Nature” on Panic’s new album Dirty Side Down as well as many other songs in the band’s repertoire including “Can’t Get High,” “Henry Parsons Died” and “Makes Sense To me,” opens for the group on September 17 and 18. Bobby Lee Rodgers does the honors on September 30 and Gov’t Mule has signed on for October 23 and 24. There groups are set for October 2: Boombox, Dead Confederate and The Movement. Widespread Panic’s three night run at in New Orleans at tour’s end will feature Ivan Neville’s Dumpstaphunk (October 29), The New Mastersounds (October 30) and The Dirty Dozen Brass Band (October 31).
