Last night the Low Anthem performed a nearly secret show at a converted warehouse space in downtown Pittsfield, MA. The group couldn’t announce the gig due to publicity restrictions related to the band’s most recent date opening for Emmylou Harris in Northampton, and also because the converted warehouse that housed the performance is not a licensed venue. Still just over 115 people alerted by word of mouth, received complimentary Narragansett Ale and a wonderfully focused, at-times-intense performance that showcased plenty of material from the upcoming album Smart Flesh set to hit in February.
