On March 1, 1969 during a performance by The Doors at the Dinner Key Auditorium in Miami, a drunken Jim Morrison allegedly exposed himself to the crowd (the band has long stated that he only pretended to do so). Four days later the city Miami issued an arrest warrant and Morrison was eventually convicted of open profanity and indecent exposure. Yesterday, Governor Charlie Crist and the Florida Clemency Board voted unanimously to pardon Morrison on both charges. Florida’s outgoing governor is a Doors fan and had initiated the process (no word on whether he will act to assist Paul “Pee Wee Herman” Reubens who was arrested in 1991 for public exposure in a Sarasota adult theater).
