Austin, TX’s The Parish will host FunkFest V on February 26. Robert Walter’s 20th Congress will headline the show, which will also feature performances by Papa Mali, Yo Mama’s Big Fat Booty Band, Black Red Black and DJ Easybake. Several guests will perform with Walter during his set, including his Greyboy Allstars band mates Karl Denson (saxophone) and Chris Stillwell (bass). The rest of the band will consist of guitarist Will Bernard (Stanton Moore Trio, Motherbug), drummer Simon Lott and percussionist Chuck Prada. The night will kick off with a catered dinner provided by several local chefs.
