Javelin will release the “country western songbook” Canyon Candy EP this spring. As the electronic duo explains. “Inspired by tours through a classic western landscape dotted with surrealist geographic locales like the ‘Crater of Diamonds,’ a conversation with Lucky Dragons which yielded the album’s title, and a desire to harness the manic energy of the road and redirect it in the opposite direction into (cough) syrupy slow, sometimes beautiful, cowboy songs.” In addition to a more traditional release, the album will also be issued as a 10” for Record Store Day on April 16. The group is also raising money through Kickstarter to make a movie tied to the new EP. Javelin will appear at New York’s Tribeca Grand tonight.
