Only two shows remain in this Allman Brothers Band’s 2011 Beacon Theater run. Last night’s performance saw a variety of guests takes the stage with the group as the ABB builds towards its 200th night at the venue on Saturday. Late in the first set Mountain guitarist Lesley West appeared for “Crossroads,” joined by Gov’t Mule keyboard player Danny Louis and SNL drummer Shawn Pelton (who subbed for Butch Trucks). They all remained and James van der Bogert also moved behind a kit for “Going Down” (with both Trucks and Jaimoe sitting that one out). Then during the second set, Furthur guitarist John Kadlecik made an appearance on “Come On In My Kitchen.”

A bit later, some members of Gregg Allman’s solo band enlivened set as Jay Collins and Scott Sharrard came out along with Reggie Pittman, Brian Mitchell (Levon Helm Band) and James van der Bogert for “That’s What Love Will Make You Do.” Collins, Sharrard, Pittman and Mitchell later returned for the “Southbound” encore along with Tom Guarna.
