Last year Moogfest, the event that celebrates the ingenuity and efforts of Bob Moog, inventor of the Moog synthesizer, moved to Asheville, NC. The event will return to Asheville this year from October 28-30 with music taking place at the Asheville Civic Center Arena, the Thomas Wolfe Auditorium, the Orange Peel Social & Pleasure Club and other locales. The initial artist lineup features: Tangerine Dream, the Flaming Lips, STS9, Umphrey’s McGee, Hans-Joachim Roedelius, Suicide, Passion Pit, Ghostland Observatory, Crystal Castles, Chromeo, Battles, Mayer Hawthorne & The County, M83, Holy F**k, Matthew Dear, Twin Shadow and Toro y Moi. In addition to performances, Moogfest will offer workshops, talks, interactive experiences and art exhibitions. Weekend passes will go on sale on Saturday, June 4, at noon Eastern via www.moogfest.com
