On October 4, the boundary-blurring bluegrass band Greensky Bluegrass will release Handguns, their fourth studio album. To promote the 14-track self-produced release, Greensky Bluegrass is currently offering a free download of the 5-track Handguns EP on their website. Having played at many of this summer’s biggest festivals including Bonnaroo, the All Good festival, Bumbershoot, the Hangout and dozens more, the members of Greensky Bluegrass have solidified their position as a mainstay within the jamband community. Their past releases have demonstrated their love for improvisation and musical styles other than bluegrass, and Handguns —which includes songs with horn parts and distortion—continues their ongoing search for every sound possible with an acoustic string band.
