As previously reported, George Porter & the Runnin’ Pardners will release a few studio album on October 1. Porter has now confirmed some additional details about the project. Can’t Beat DA Funk will feature 16 Meters songs that The Meters never performed live. The bassist hinted at the project during an interview with Relix/Jambands.com earlier this year. “George Porter & the Runnin’ Pardners will celebrate the album’s release with a headlining show at New Orleans’ Tipitina’s Uptown on October 1. Porter and the rest of The Meters are featured on the cover of the September issue of Relix.
