Last night, Marco Benevento was joined onstage by Mike Gordon during the second week of his month-long residency at the intimate Radio Bean coffee house in Burlington, VT. Gordon—who hosted his Honky Tonk Tuesday jams at the same venue—emerged onstage early-on in the evening alongside Benevento and drummer Andy Borger for a groove based on Booker T. & the M.G.’s “Green Onions” followed by a cover of Deerhoof’s “Twin Killers.” A second local Vermont musician, Samara Lark, also sat in later in the evening for a take on “Heartbeats” by The Knife. Vermont Live Music provided a live stream of the show and have now uploaded the video, which you can view above. Marco Benevento’s month-long residency at the Radio Bean continues next Friday. He plays at Red Square in Albany tonight.
