For several years, Disco Biscuits bassist Marc Brownstein put together an annual super jam on New Year’s Day. These gigs brought together a number of familiar faces over the years, including Mike Gordon, Joe Russo, New Deal’s Jamie Shields, moe.’s Al Schnier and additional members of the Disco Biscuits. On January 1, 2012, a number of musicians with New Year’s Eve shows in Chicago will combine forces for a gig at the Bottom Lounge. Dubbed the Gigantic Underground Conspiracy, the project will bring together Brownstein, Disco Biscuits/Conspirator keyboardist Aron Magner, RAQ/Conspirator guitarist Chris Michetti and Underground Orchestra percussionist Ben Baruch, as well as both members of Big Gigantic, Dominic Lalli and Jeremy Salken. The show is slated to run from 9 PM-2AM.
