The people behind Smilefest and Head Jamz have partnered to present the first annual Jomeokee Music & Arts Festival. The inaugural gathering will take place in Pinnacle, NC from September 14-16, 2012. Jomeokee will boast two side-by-side stages: On one stage, Del McCoury will showcase bluegrass, string and Americana music, while the second stage will boast a variety of funk, jam and world acts. A statement from the band reads, “You’ll find much of what you loved about Smilefest and Head Jamz at Jomeokee Music & Arts Festival. Over the years, Smilefest has hosted artists such as David Grisman, Derek Trucks, Burning Spear, Michaal Franti, Keller & The Keels, Yonder Mountain String Band, Vassar Clements and Leftover Salmon. Combining quality music with earth-conscious outdoor activities, Head Jamz reveled in providing a monster festival experience in an intimate setting. Like Smilefest and Head Jamz, Jomeokee is a family-friendly festival. You’ll find a workshop stage hosting memorable experiences with world-class musicians, late night campfire picking jams featurning all-star collaborations, and of course, a Kids Zone.”
