Chamber rock pioneer Richard Barone will celebrate the 25h anniversary of his first solo album, Cool Blue Halo, with a special performance at New York’s City Winery on May 4. Recorded live at New York’s Bottom Line on a single evening in May 1987, the all acoustic performance blended classical, jazz and art-rock elements. For Barone’s City Winery performance, he will reassemble his original backing group—cellist Jane Scarpantoni, acoustic guitarist Nick Celeste and percussionist/keyboardist Valerie Naranjo—and recreate Cool Blue Halo in its entirety. Several special guests will join Barone throughout the performance, including Band organist Garth Hudson.
