Veteran downtown NYC club NuBlu will celebrate its tenth anniversary throughout the month of June with a special lineup of performances. The tiny East Village club, founded in 2002 by Ilhan Ershain, has long been a favorite “secret hang” for many of the city’s finest musicians, playing host to such luminaries as Vernon Reid (Living Colour), DJ Logic and Shawn Pelton ( SNL Band) over the years. It is also considered the birthplace of Brazilian Girls, who have held multiple residencies at the club over the course of their career. Live performers that have been scheduled for the festivities include Sun Ra Arkestra, the recently reunited Brazilian Girls, Nerve, Project Logic, Taylor McFerrin and Groove Collective, while the selection of DJs includes Moby, Nickodemus, and DJ Logic, among many others. Shows will be taking place nightly at NuBlue from June 1-30, and the complete schedule with ticket information will be available at www.nublu.net in the coming days.
