Bruce Springsteen to Kick Off 12.12.12

The organizers of the 12.12.12 Concert for Sandy Relief have announced that the event will begin promptly at 7:30pm with a performance by Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band. As previously reported, the proceeds from the concert—which will also include appearances by The Rolling Stones, Eric Clapton, Roger Waters, The Who, Paul McCartney, Bon Jovi and more—will go to the Robin Hood Relief Fund’s Hurricane Sandy recovery efforts.

Tickets to the concert can be purchased here and attendees are asked to to be in their seats no later than 7:15pm on the day of the show. Fans who are unable to attend the event itself will be able to watch it in select theaters, on select television networks or on the internet. More information about these alternative viewing options can be found here.

It’s not easy for me to give Jim Dolan of MSG & Cablevision fame credit for anything, but in this case he deserves it. He has spearheaded the charge, & it is going to be a wonderful night that will hopefully raise lots of much needed money. I was fortunate enough to be at the 9/11 Concert for NYC 11 years ago, & if the 12 12 12 show is half as good, inspirational & emotional, then its going to be a special night indeed. Congrats to all involved, from the artists right down to the ticket buyers.
