Phish Teases on Wheel of Fortune

Phish references continue to pop up in the mainstream media. In 2012 alone, the Vermont Quartet were referenced on The Office, Trey Anastasio was a clue on Jeopardy and, of course, the band forged a close relationship with Justin Bieber.

On Christmas Eve, Phish were also name-checked on Wheel of Fortune. Show host Pat Sajak interviewed contestant Berkeley Ramsbottom Cox about her love of Phish at the start of the show. During her brief interview segment, Cox referenced her dogs Minnie, Harpua and Fluffhead, mentioned that she has seen 51 Phish shows and said that she hoped to spend her winnings attending more shows. Sajak’s response was that it “was good to have a, um, goal.” Though Cox did not win, she did walk away with almost $7,000.

GO! Read and say anything you want this is ‘Merica. Anyone who gives a fuck probly likes coverbands and eats at the Cheesecake Factory. Hey did you know that the DEA let Purdue Pharma increase oxycontin production %1200 in the years since medical marajuana became legal here in Cali? If Bubba Clintons numbers are correct three ‘Mericans overdose every hour on the drug. Thats fucked up aint it? If a terrorist organization killed over 70 ‘mericans a day theyd be considered a big threat to homeland security and we would send in SEAL team 6. Fuck Perdue Pharma. They want us to pay up and die. Sayjack could be a character on the office, no?

Mr. Green December 27, 2012, 20:54:12

I am learning how to play an instrument so I can start a band and call it Rammsbotton-Cox

Adam December 28, 2012, 00:16:41

What a last name!

oh my... December 28, 2012, 19:33:31

“Rams ur Cox to the Bottom” or just simple “Cox Rammsbottom” like “See Spot run” new meaning to “Theme from the Bottom”. Should be an opener for such a great name. I need to go back on those lyrics, maybe they were sexual innuendos the whole time

It is a curious notion to find entertainment in Phish shows. However, the primary reason for this late post in response to the 12/24 Christmas Eve Wheel of Fortune show is to point out what a superb example of sincere and spontaneous ENTHUSIAM that Berkeley Ramsbottom displayed when she won $6,800 and wasn’t shut out. We truly enjoyed her very memorable reaction! I hope this note makes its way to her.

Bob Mudd February 10, 2013, 12:42:50

Oh, PHISH is a band! Now her interest makes sense.

Jonny Cottone March 20, 2013, 16:18:15

Berkeley, this kickstarted shirt I designed on TeePublic has your name written all over it!
