Johnny Winter, Edie Brickell, Paul Shaffer to Play Newtown Memorial Benefit Concerts

Johnny Winter will headline A Concert for Hope and Healing at the Ridgefield Playhouse in Ridgefield, CT this Sunday, January 20. The blues icon and longtime Connecticut resident will join Southside Johnny, Bernie Williams with the Gil Parris Quartet and additional acts at the event. Another concert featuring Edie Brickell, Paul Shaffer and others will also be held at the same venue on Saturday, January 19. All of the proceeds from both events will go toward building a memorial park in honor of the victims of the Sandy Hook Elementary School shooting in Newtown, CT. Saturday’s show begins at 6:30pm and Sunday’s show will start at 5:30pm. Tickets are $45 and can be purchased here.

It’s a very cool thing Johnny, Paul, and the band are doing, playing this benefit concert. Nothing can erase the heartache, but any effort is an act of goodness over evil.
