moe. hosted their big electric shows at Rutland, VT’s Spartan Arena on Friday and Saturday nights. On Friday, Dumpstaphunk provided direct support for the band and, during moe.‘s first set, Ivan Neville emerged for “Happy Hour Hero” and a song long associated with his family, The Meters’ “Cissy Strut.” The next night, the reunited original Strangefolk lineup opened for moe. and, at the end of the event hosts’ first set, Reid Genauer and Jon Trafton emerged for a pair of songs. The Strangefolk co-founders joined moe. on a cover of The Band’s “Up On Cripple Creek” and “Mexico.” moe. guitarist Al Schnier joined the recently reunited Strangefolk for the latter song at Port Chester, NY’s Capitol Theater this past November. Saturday’s show also included moe.‘s first take on “That Country Song” since February 9, 2012.

moe. played two special shows during the weekend. On Saturday afternoon, the band played a free, outdoor show at the base of Killington, VT’s Bear Mountain. Then on Sunday, the group offered an acoustic brunch set for VIP ticket holders at Killington, VT’s Wobbly Barn. moe.‘s acoustic set featured the group’s first cover of Camper Van Beethoven’s “Good Guys and Bad Guys” since July 22, 2008 as well as their first version of the rarely played Conch original “Macintyre Range” since February 28, 2009.

moe.‘s next performance will take place at Gulf Shores, AL’s The Hangout from May 17-19. Please visit our Box Scores section for a full list of moe. and Strangefolk setlists from this past weekend.
