Umphrey’s McGee to Offer "Headphones & Snowcones" at Upcoming Spring Shows

Umphrey’s McGee will be offering their new “Headphones & Snowcones” option at their upcoming show at the Music Farm in Charleston, SC on April 10. The option will then be available for the rest of the band’s spring tour, which ends on April 20 at Stubb’s BBQ in Austin, TX.

As previously reported, Headphones and Snowcones gives fans the chance to experience an Umphrey’s concert via a Sennheiser wireless system and a pair Audio-Technica headphones. The headsets will deliver a pristine live mix of the performance, allowing listeners to hear all of the band’s nuances. Listeners will have a private viewing area by the soundboard at certain venues, but all will receive an UMLive download of the show (MP3 or FLAC). The experience will cost $40.00 (plus a deposit) and will be limited, as of now, to 18 fans.

The band also listed the following “fine print” on their site:

A regular ticket to the show is required. A credit card authorization of $500 will be held upon rental but will only be charged if you walk off with a belt pack and/or headphones or either are returned damaged (or submerged in a 32oz. beer). Only headphone customers will be allowed inside the reserved front-of-house area. You are free to leave the reserved section however we only guarantee an uninterrupted audio signal inside said section (for now). Note that in the event of rain at in St. Petersburg or Austin we will have to issue refunds or rain checks. You will receive an email with further details. Prepare to have your mind blown.

Fail? Nobody said they are introducing it for the first time… just a heads up that they’re offering it again. Odd comment

Why a “fail”? I had the headphones in Oakland and would give it a 10. It was fabulous. What’s with the “fail” HurtBirdBath?
