Tedeschi Trucks Band have announced that Bakithi Kumalo will fill in on bass for a few shows, starting with this weekend’s Wanee Festival ending with the May 3 show in Stroudsburg, PA. Baktithi is a veteran of Paul Simon’s touring band and is best known for his work on Simon’s classic album Graceland. The Tedeschi Trucks Band have been cycling through temporary bassists since Oteil Burbridge left the band last year.

As previously reported, Tedeschi Trucks will embark on a co-headlining tour with The Black Crowes this summer. The bands will be supported by The London Souls on that tour. TTB will also join Grace Potter & The Nocturnals for shows at the Sandia Casino Amphitheater and the Red Rocks Amphitheatre this June (JJ Grey & Mofro will also be there for the latter date).
