Furthur drummer Joe Russo, Furthur gutiarist John Kadlecik and Hall & Oates guitarist Paul Pesco all joined Jay Lane’s Happy Sunshine Burger Joint last night. The performance took place at Port Chester, NY’s Copacabana Restaurant Brazilian Steak House after Furthur’s performance at the nearby Capitol Theater. Lane’s band featured a mix of musicians from the jazz, funk and hip-hop worlds, including Bobby Brown Band members Jamal Peoples (keys) and Larry Peoples Jr. (drums). The show featured mix of material, including spirited takes on “China Cat Sunflower” and “Eyes of the World.”

Lane’s Cap to the Copa after shows have featured guests every night. Kadlecik has sat in several times and Bob Weir played a few songs on Wednesday night.

Weir, Leslie Mendelson and Jason Crosby will perform with Lane this evening. Both Mendelson and Crosby have performed with Weir on several occasions this year. Mendelson confirmed Weir’s involvement via Twitter this evening.
