More Umphrey’s McGee and STS9 Dates

Umphrey’s McGee and STS9 have revealed a few more dates for their upcoming co-headlining tour. Over the course of the day yesterday, the bands confirmed that they will be performing in Indianapolis, Chicago, Detroit, Kansas City, St. Louis and Nashville this August. These new dates are in addition to their previously announced joint show at Wolf Trap in Vienna, VA on September 1. No venues were confirmed for the shows that were revealed yesterday.

As previously reported, yesterday’s announcement came via various social media outlets, with both Umphrey’s McGee and STS9 posting Vine slideshows and YouTube videos on their Facebook and Twitter accounts. As of now, there’s no word on potential venues, ticketing information or if anymore dates will be revealed. However with a bunch of Midwest stops and one East Coast outlier already confirmed, it certainly seems like more dates should be announced soon.

UPDATE:

Umphrey’s McGee and STS9 have confirmed a show in Atlanta, GA for August 24 via the STS9 Vine account.

UPDATE #2:

A show at Louisville, KY’s Palace Theater on August 15 has been confirmed. The news came via a video on STS9’s Youtube account. The band’s Twitter also revealed that a full 14 show tour will be announced today, April 26.

Confirmed Umphrey’s McGee and STS9 Tour Dates

August 15 Louisville, KY—Palace Theater
August 16 Indianapolis, IN
August 17 Chicago, IL
August 18 Detroit, MI
August 21 Kansas City, MO
August 22 St. Louis, MO

Not a big fan of either band, and likely won’t see the tour… however, this method of releasing dates is IMO reaching the point of aggravating… not just these two, it seems it’s becoming a common practice… again, IMO, the longer bands (or, more likely agents) stretch this crap out, the quicker I tune out… it’s like a girl/guy you like who keeps teasing, sooner or later it’s time to move on and find someone who doesn’t play stupid games…

Chesterfield is in west St. Louis County and the police out there are out of hand. The venue sits a block away from the Chesterfield police station and the amphitheater is run by the parks dpt. The venue itself is only about 2 years old and is incredible.

I think it’s a brilliant marketing tactic

Is the picture of the venue 3 seconds in to the video not a potential hint to the venue? Anyone know what venue that is in STL?

Brad April 25, 2013, 12:53:57

I find it annoying as well. Just release the dates so I can make plans. and for the love of god, announce a Philly date

could be way off but i’d assume stl would be somewhere outside. last time sts9/um came they played live on the levee. so maybe that?! not sure.

The venue is the new-ish amphitheater in Chesterfield…the place is sick but is going to be a total shitshow.

Teton_rambler April 25, 2013, 13:51:37

Both pictures are of that amphitheater.

Brad, Philly is like 2 hours or so from Vienna, VA. Easily do-able and worth the trip. The day after is also Labor Day, so most businesses will be off/closed.

heyluke12 April 26, 2013, 07:17:34

to all those hating on dates being announced…why the fuck wouldn’t you want know that a show is scheduled? even if it’s 4 months in advance? bands, i’m not sure if you know this, schedule dates with venues to play. that’s kinda how it works. to the first poster that said they dislike both UM and STS9…why even post on a board/website that deals with advertising for their tour, especially in a negative way? that’s just ridiculous. you don’t like either band…so what. i am more than happy to go to the indiana and chicago shows (both are local for me), and have a great time. i don’t get the issue with releasing dates. isn’t that what bands do when they release a tour schedule? hey “me,” go fuck yourself. i don’t plan on looking at this website again, so hate all you want. but “me,” you’re what people call a cocksucker. fuck you

not_me April 26, 2013, 15:22:55

hey “me” why don’t you chill out a little bit…eeesshhh
