Dumpstaphunk closed out their Jazz Fest run at Tipitina’s in New Orleans on Sunday night with their special 10th anniversary show. The band was joined by a horn section consisting of Jennifer Hartswick, Natalie Cressman and Skerik for “I Know You Know,” as well as their live debut of their new tracks “Raise the House” and “I Wish You Would,” the latter of which featured a stellar sax solo from Skerik. At other points in the set, the band was joined by Eric Krasno, Erick “Jesus” Coomes, Ryan Zoidis and Eric Bloom of the Shady Horns, and a few members of the Parliament-Funkadelic. In an interesting move, Nikki Glaspie stayed on stage before the encore. The drummer got off to a solo before being joined by Skerik, Coomes and Krasno for a jam that built up to “One Nation Under A Groove,” with the rest of the band taking the stage for the tune.
