Since it opened, John Zorn’s avant-garde club The Stone has looked to a range of musicians to curate multi-night runs at the venue. The length of those runs has changed over the past five years, but the club continues to only book shows on a curatorial basis. Now, The Stone has confirmed its 2014 residencies. Sonic Youth guitarist Thurston Moore will kick off the year with a multi-night run at the space from December 21-January 5. Looking ahead, The Stone will also host residencies by Marc Ribot (1/28-2/2), John Medeski (2/18-23), Ben Goldberg (2/25-3/2), Laurie Anderson (3/11-16), Bill Laswell (4/8-13), Billy Martin (7/22-27), Wilco guitarist Nels Cline (8/5-10) and Bill Frisell (8/26-31). The space will also celebrate the William S. Burroughs centennial with a week of events from April 15-20.
