John Frusciante, best known as the former guitarist for Red Hot Chili Peppers, will release a new solo album Enclosure on April 8. Frusciante announced the news in January that he would be pairing up with the Mars Volta’s Omar Rodriguez-Lopez along with Gender Bender, Nicole Turley, Dante White-Aliano and Laena Geronimo.

Premier Guitar’s Tess Jeffers says the album “uses drum machines and expansive effects to set the mood” and is a departure from Frusciante’s last few albums. Read the full review of the album here.

Frusciante has strictly stuck to solo work since his 2009 departure from the Chili Peppers, with a full-length release in 2012 (_PBX Funicular Intaglio_) and the 2013 EP, Outsides.
